Mike Knight Wins Both Magnum Graf-X and Finn’s Auto Sales & Service Outlaw Cadet “Double Nickel” Races
Super Late Model Winner John Lobb

Busti, NY: The rain was a no show on Saturday for the Magnum Graf-X and Finn’s Auto Sales & Service night at Stateline Speedway. Doug Eck successfully
defended his Super Late Model King of the Hill title defeating Bump Hedman. Mike Knight came from his eighth starting spot to lead the final two laps of the first Outlaw Cadet
“Double Nickel” feature them came from tenth in the second to sweep the event. Aron Dascomb won the Spectator feature for his first win in the Spectator division. John Lobb won the
Super Late Model contest leading all but the first lap. Bob Hazzard easily won the Super Sportsman feature. Tom Hagberg battled Chad Ramsey through out the caution filled E-Mod
feature to notch his first win of the season. Adrian Swanson won the Lady Challenger feature. Skip Jackson won the first Super Challenger feature and Jimmy Drabo won the second.
Paul Norman and Brian Crandall were on the front row for the first “Double Nickel” Outlaw Cadet feature. Crandall and Norman contested the number
one spot for two laps before Crandall
took control. Norman lost his second spot to Kelly Frederes on lap four. Frederes caught and passed Crandall on lap seven. Steve Moynihan spun
in turn three for the first caution of the event with nine laps complete. Frederes, Crandall, Norman, Mike Knight and Nathan Short were the restart leaders. Knight used the restart
to pass Crandall then one lap later Crandall lost the handle spinning in turn three for the second caution. Knight passed Frederes coming to the white flag then led the final
two.
Paul Himes was on the pole for the second feature for the Outlaw Cadets with Brian Crandall second. Crandall got the early lead Rick
Thompson second. Glenn Slaney passed Thompson for the second spot on lap three. Steve Moynihan brought out the first caution negating Crandall’s lead with nine laps remaining.
Slaney pushed up the speedway loosing second to Nathan Short on the restart lap then Thompson and Scott Lewis tangled for the second yellow. Crandall choose the high side after
the restart and was able to fend off several challenges from Short. With five laps remaining Mike Knight moved into the fray taking just two laps to pass Short and Crandall.
Thompson had more trouble with two remaining for third yellow. Knight easily controlled the final restart for his second win of the night.
Matt Harvey led the first lap of the Spectator feature and a multi-car tangle brought out the yellow before lap two could be completed.
Harvey slowed to a stop after the restart causing caution number two. Harvey was required to report to the rear of the file placing Clarence Dickerson and Wade Watson up front for
the restart. Watson led lap two with Dickerson second and Aron Dascomb third. Just as Watson caught the end of the field the yellow flew for Buzz Phearsdorf and Lonnie Waldron in
turn two. Six laps were complete. Dascomb made a bid for second on lap seven then the yellow appeared for Jim Britt and Travis Swabik. Dascomb got along side Watson on the restart
but could not make the pass. Dascomb made his second attempt with the two to go signal and made it work taking the white just before the yellow flew for John Boyd stalled in turn
four. Wade Watson tried to pass Dascomb on the final lap but blew a radiator in the final corner.
The initial start of the Super Late Model feature ended with several cars in a tangle at the
end of the front straight. J.C Lechner, Rich Gardner,
Chad Ruhlman and Steve Halpainy were some of the cars involved. Chad Valone and Ward Schell brought the field around for the second attempted start. Valone crossed the line and the
yellow flew for Andy Boozel in turn one. Ward Schell brought out the third caution on the restart. John Lobb led lap two with Valone second followed by Chris Hackett and Jeff
Hoffman, Hoffman passed Hackett on lap five as Lobb stretched his led to ten car lengths over Valone. Dick Barton was fifth form his tenth starting spot. With ten laps remaining
Lobb led by a straight away as the top five battle lap traffic. With five remaining Lobb was way out front the their was a four way battle for second. Barton slowed on the final
circuits as Lobb took the checkers followed by Valone and Hoffman.
Bob Van Arsdale spun on the initial start of the Super Sportsman feature. Bob Hazzard led for the start with John Boardman second, Chris Kuschel
third and Steve Kania fourth. Hank Francis brought out the second yellow with four laps complete. Tim Nocero moved into the top three after the restart. Two laps later Kania
stopped up against the turn two concrete for yellow number three. A broken axel on J.R. Nocero’s car brought out the fourth caution with eleven laps complete. Nocero passed
Boardman on the restart for the runner up spot as Hazzard ran away from the field for his first win of the season.
Chad Ramsey and Tom Hagberg were the early leaders of the E-Mod feature. Ron Boardman stopped in turn one for the first yellow with three laps
complete. After just one more lap the yellow returned for Brian Fardink and Jaime Schnars. Hagberg became the new leader after the restart with Ramsey second and Quincy Turner
third. A lap seven spin by Chris Couchenour brought out caution three then one lap later the yellow flew again, this time for Cale Crocker. Hagberg led by five car lengths at half
way point then one lap later Boardman spun for caution five. Caution six quickly followed on the restart. Ramsey slipped by Hagberg with two to go then Hagberg came back to reclaim
the lead as the yellow flew for the sixth time. Hagberg won the race just as his left rear tire went flat. Model
