Busti, NY: Arthur R Gren/Budweiser and Dan Moore’s Corry Chrysler sponsored the events at Stateline Speedway which were headlined by King of the Hill qualifying for the Super Sportsman and Spectator divisions. John Boyd won the Spectator King of the Hill defeating Carl Marcy in the final round. Kelly Frederes captured the Super Sportsman King of the hill pocketing the $1,000 from Budweiser. Chad Valone won the Super Late Model King of the Hill Challenge narrowly defeating Darrel Bossard in the five lap event. Carl Marcy survived several yellows to win his first Spectator feature of the year. Darrell Bossard took advantage of early crashes in the Super Late Model event to notch his second career win at Stateline and his first of the season. Kelly Frederes led every lap of the Super Sportsman race for his second win of the season. Mike Moore came from thirteenth to win his ninth of the season in the Outlaw Cadet division. Scott Gurdak led every lap of the E-Mod feature for his third win of the season. Stephanie Devereaux won her second Lady Challenger feature. Jim Chase won the first Super Challenger feature and Rick Karash won the second.

Twenty-nine Spectator cars reported to the speedway for their feature event. Aron Dascomb and Carl Marcy were on the front row with King of the Hill winner John Boyd in third. Marcy led the first circuit with Dascomb second, Alex Froman third and Boyd fourth. The first five laps went quickly as Marcy remained the leader. Just as the leader caught lap traffic the yellow flew for Bryon Johnson stopped in turn one. Marcy, Froman, Boyd, Dascomb and John Swabik were the leaders with twenty-five cars still on the speedway. Marcy was able to pull away from the field after the restart and led by nearly ten car lengths when the yellow flew once more. Nine of the fifteen laps were complete and twenty-four cars remained. Just one more lap was complete when yellow number three occurred for John Swabik and several other cars. Marcy, Froman, Boyd, Dascomb and Gary Fisher led. Marcy continued to control the event. A final lap yellow caused by Walter Johnson allowed the field to close with Marcy for the final lap. Marcy controlled the lap fifteen restart like all the others and cruised to the checkers for his first win of the season.

Randy Lobb, Paul Briggs, Rich Gardner and Bump Hedman made up the two front rows for the Super Late Model feature. Randy Lobb nearly spun coming out of turn two on the first lap collecting Valone, Gardner, Andy Kania and John Lobb went into the pits placing Doug Ricotta on the pole for the restart with Paul Briggs along side. Briggs led Ricotta by the flag stand on lap one. At the end of the second lap the yellow flew as official suspected fuel spilling from the leader’s car. The car was checked and a leak was not found. Briggs spun collecting Mere Terry and Randy Shearer for the third yellow. Ricotta, Bossard, Bump Hedman, Scott Johnson and Ted Kosinski were the restart leaders. Ricotta fired first with Bossard second and Johnson third. Doug Eck was fourth while Rod Maloy and Andy Boozel fought for the fifth spot. Maloy was able to take the fifth spot. Bossard challenged Ricotta on lap ten and took over the spot one lap later. Bossard moved into lap traffic on lap thirteen and Eck caught Ricotta. Two laps later Ricotta went high in turn two allowing Eck by for the runner up spot and sending Ricotta back to third. Bossard led Eck by fifteen car lengths with five laps remaining. Randy Lobb slowed between turns one and two bringing out the caution with four laps remaining allowing Eck to close with Bossard. Eck was able to stay with Bossard over the finial four circuits but could not make the pass losing to Bossard by a car length at the line.

Jim Hilyer, Aaron Robinson and Doug Birath caused the first yellow on the initial lap of the Super Sportsman feature. The second start was better as Kelly Frederes led Rusty Briggs across the line on lap one. Bob Hazzard was third with Tim Nocero fourth. A lap four spin by Briggs collected several cars including Nocero, Ben Burgess and Hazzard. Frederes, Mike Kosinski, John Boardman and Chris Kuschel led after the restart. Don McGuire spun with seven laps complete for the third yellow. Bryan Ester spun with nine complete for yellow four. Frederes, Kosinski, Kuschel, Boardman and Steve Kania were the leaders. Briggs spun again with eleven complete for yellow five. The top five remained the same for the remainder of the race giving Frederes his second win of the season.

Chet Sheets was the Outlaw Cadet early leader going up in smoke near the end of lap two bringing out an early yellow and putting John Cline into the lead. Paul Himes was second and Paul Norman third. Cline led lap two with Brian Crandall second and Norman third. Rick Thompson was fourth with point leader Mike Moore fifth. Thompson lost a wheel and spun into the infield coming out of turn four with six laps complete for the second yellow. On lap eight Norman moved by Crandall for second and one lap later Moore pushed Crandall to fourth. Moore was alongside Norman on lap eleven and grabbed second on lap eleven. Two laps later Moore took the lead from Cline then Buck Marrs spun with one lap remaining. Moore notched his ninth win in eighteen starts.

Scott Gurdak and Ron Seeley were on the front row of E-Mod feature. Gurdak led lap number one. Tom Hagberg was second with point leader Greg Johnson third. Jake Halpainy spun with five laps complete for the first caution. One more lap was complete when Rusty Briggs spun for the second yellow. Nathan Short slowed bringing out the third yellow with ten laps complete. Gurdak moved up against the cushion while Hagberg stayed low. With five remaining the yellow reappeared this time for Cale Crocker in turn four. Gurdak cruised to the checkers for his third win of the season.
