Rain Ends Applebee Motorsports E-Mod Invasion
Rod Maloy Wins Super Late Model Feature at Stateline Speedway

Busti, NY: The Applebee Motorsports E-Mod Invasion at Stateline Speedway started in near perfect weather but was cut short by rain. Fifty-six E-Mods
were on hand for the qualifying events and it took five heats and two consolation races to decide the 26 starters, the remaining cars were scheduled to run in a $1,000 to win
feature race. All qualifying was completed then threatening rain forced management to move the Super Late Model feature up in the schedule and Rod Maloy won the rain shortened
event stopped after twenty laps. It was Malloy’s second win of the season. After a brief rain delay Elaine Best won the Lady Challenger feature her second of the season. Then the
rain returned on the final lap of the first Super Challenger feature won by Dana Haner and the evening ended.
Rod Maloy and Dennis Lunger were on the front row for the Super Late Model feature with Scott Johnson and Randy Lobb in row two and Chris Hackett
and point leader Chad Valone in row three. Maloy led the first circuit with Lunger a distant second and Johnson third. Mike Knight was fourth with Hackett alongside for firth.
Knight moved up to third just be for the first yellow. George LaBarbera and Nathan Short were involved in the yellow. Maloy, Lunger, Knight, Johnson, Valone and Hackett were the
lap five restart leaders. Knight was second at the end of five with Valone third, Johnson fourth and Hackett fifth. A lap nine spin by Doug Ricotta caused the second yellow of the
event. Maloy continued to hug the inside and Knight tried to find the grip to pass on the outside while Valone sat in third. On lap fifteen Valone moved under Knight and made the
pass stick just before the yellow flew for Chevy Scott who had stopped in turn four. Knight moved down behind Maloy after the restart as Valone tried the high side. Bruce Hordusky
spun with eighteen complete and Hackett pulled in to the pits. Maloy, Valone, Knight, Johnson and Scott Gurdak were the restart leaders. Merle Terry was turned on the back straight
collecting Ryan Scott for yellow number three with six laps remaining and rain starting to fall. As the yellow proceeded the rain grew in intensity and the race was called complete
with Maloy getting the checkers.
