By Glenn Slocum
Busti, NY: Rookie Damian Bidwell passed veteran Mike Moon to notch his first Spectator win. Mike Moore extended his Outlaw Cadet point lead winning the Jen Carlson Memorial
race his third win of the season. Scott Johnson survived a last lap dash to win his second Super Late Model feature with Doug Eck from twenty-first to second. Ron Seeley won his
second E-Mod feature of the season in a caution strewn twenty lap event. Jake Eller survived a late race caution winning his second Super Sportsman feature of the season. Stephanie
Hilyer led from initial green to win her fourth feature of the season. Rick Karash won the first Super Challenger feature from his fifteenth starting spot and Jamie Hebner came
from twenty second to win the second on the final lap.
Chad Schauers and Mike Moon were
in row one for the Spectator feature with Damian Bidwell and Brian Wilson in row two. Moon led the first circuit but Brad Beckstrom and Skip Jackson tangled in turn three bringing
out the caution flag. Moon led after the restart with Schauers back in second as Bidwell slipped to fourth. Matt Harvey and John Britt brought out the second yellow with four laps
complete. Moon, Schauers, Stan Davis Jr., Gary Fisher and Bidwell were the restart leaders. Point leader Aron Dascomb was sixth. Schauers nearly spun collecting Davis and the
yellow followed the green. Moon, Fisher, Bidwell, Dascomb and Brandon Pierce were out front for the second lap five restart. Bidwell was second into turn one as Moon led lap five
with Dascomb third. Dascomb and Bidwell were waging a heated battle for the runner up spot. Bidwell secured the spot as the yellow appeared once again this time for Brian Wilson.
Ten of the fifteen laps were complete. Eight cars were involved in yellow going into turn one on the restart. Bidwell led lap eleven by a nose just before the yellow flew again.
Nathan Earle and Beckstrom caused the caution. Bidwell was out in front by several car lengths with two to go, Moon was second with Dascomb third. The white flag was quickly
followed by a yellow allowing the field to close with Bidwell. Harvey and Kevin Golden were the cause of the yellow. The rookie Bidwell ran the final lap like a veteran. Bidwell
had to dodge a back marker as he came for the checkers his career first in the Spectator division.
Paul Himes led the first lap of
the Jen Carlson Outlaw Cadet Memorial race with Brian Larson second. Several cars tangled on lap three with Chad Carlson and Leonard Enos the only two stopped for the yellow.
Himes, John Cline, Adam Hilyer, Larson and Brian Crandall were the restart leaders. Larson spun on the restart collecting Chris Ottaway for caution number two. Point leader Mike
Moore made an appearance in the top five after the restart as Himes led. Hilyer was second with Steve Moynihan third and Cline fourth. Moynihan passed Hilyer then Moore passed
Hilyer. Himes run as the leader on lap eleven with a spin in turn one. Moynihan inherited the top spot with Moore second and Hilyer third. Enos stopped in the exit of turn two for
caution four. Ten laps remained. Glen Slaney was up to third from his eighteenth starting spot. Moore grabbed the inside from Moynihan on lap fifteen and made the pass stick on
sixteen to become the new leader. Hilyer brought out the final caution with two laps remaining. Moore won handily for his third visit to victory lane in 2009.
Doug Ricotta and John Lobb
brought the Super Late Models onto the speedway for their feature event. Mark Matthews waived of the initial start then sent Lobb back to row to for the next start. Nathan Short
was then second for the start. Ricotta led the first lap with Scott Johnson second followed by Rod Maloy and Short. They were three wide for fourth on lap four with Short, Chris
Hackett and John Lobb fighting for the spot. Hackett took the spot with Lobb fifth. Hackett remained on the outside and the top tree stayed on the bottom and in just one lap
Hackett passed the three leaders. Pete Alspaugh brought out the second caution with nine laps complete. Johnson grabbed the top spot on the restart running the inside with Hackett
outside. Johnson began to build a lead over Hackett with Maloy a distant third. Dennis Lunger spun collecting Randy Lobb for the third yellow with thirteen of the twenty five laps
complete. Johnson, Hackett, Maloy, Ricotta and John Lobb were the restart leaders. Scott Gurdak was sixth with point leader Chad Valone was seventh followed by Doug Eck. Eck jumped
to fourth on the restart lap. With five laps remaining Johnson led Hackett by ten car lengths and Eck passed Maloy for third. Eck was the fastest car on the speedway but had a lot
of ground to make up to catch Johnson. Lap traffic became a factor on the final lap but spin by Short set up a one lap dash for the win. Johnson, Hackett, Eck, Maloy, Gurdak,
Valone, Ricotta, Darrell Bossard, John Lobb and Rich Gardner were the top ten. Johnson held on for the win and Eck beat Hackett to the line for second.
A lap one yellow collected five
in the E-Mod feature. Dave Lyon, John Kelsey and Mike McGee were involved. Greg Johnson and Rich Michael Jr. were the leaders. The next start was a repeat with Bill Peterson and
Michael spinning. Johnson remained the leader with Ron Seeley second followed by Mike Munsee and Jason Genco. Johnson led the first green flag lap with Seeley tucked into second
and Munsee third. A lap five yellow for Rob Middleton slowed the field. Johnson, Seeley, Munsee, Scott Gurdak and Genco were the top five. Middleton lost the handle on the restart
for caution four. Gurdak passed Munsee for third using the high side. Seeley made his move on lap seven to lead at the line. Michael spun coming out of turn two for caution five
with eight laps complete. Seeley, Johnson, Gurdak, Justin Carlson and Genco led. McGee spun on the next circuit for caution six. One more lap was completed then yellow seven for
Cale Crocker. Lyon slowed high in turn three for caution eight with fourteen complete. Johnson tested Seeley a lap after the restart then Alex Froman and Randy Raynor tangle for
yellow nine. Johnson made contact with Gurdak on the restart sending Johnson around for yellow ten. Gurdak was sent to the back for the restart. Seeley, Carlson, Munsee, Genco and
Troy Carr were the top five for the restart. Seeley ran the final laps unchallenged for his second win of the season.
Jake Eller came from seventh to
lead the first lap of the Super Sportsman feature. Dan Nocero was second and Wade Watson third. Tom Kosinski lost the handle bringing out the caution with five laps complete. Pete
Volpe moved into third on lap seven. The second caution occurred for Mike Genco stopped in turn two. Yellow followed the green with Kosinski the culprit. Nocero move up a lane on
the speedway to get around Eller. Nocero could get alongside Eller but could not make the pass. Stephanie Deveraux spun for caution three with two laps remaining. Eller held on for
the win his second of the season.
