Saturday June 22nd, 2013 Busti, NY: The fan favorite Sponsor and Autograph night sponsored by Seamens Auto Wrecking included an hour long autograph session on the speedway.
Dick Barton continued to close on the all time Super Late Model winner Bobby Schnars winning his second of the season and his 77th now just 2 behind Schnars. A late race caution helped Barton regain the lead after being passed by David Scott then he survived a last corner last lap charge by Darrell Bossard for the win.
A lap car caused Richard Wojtowicz to temporarily lose the Street Stock feature lead but a yellow flag gave him the lead back and the win his first of the season.
Steve Kania won his third Limited Late Model feature of the season passing early leader John Cline Jr. just past the half way mark.
Jasen Genco grabbed the Crate Late Model lead from Derrick Frank on lap four then out ran veteran Scott Gurdak for his second trip to victory lane.
Rich Michael Sr. won the E-Mod feature an event filled with nine yellows and a red flag incident for a rollover by Cale Crocker. Justin Carlson passed Michael with one lap to go but Michael came back to regain the lead on the final lap.
Dan Nocero Jr. passed Jim Kibbe with five laps remaining for his third Super Sportsman win of the season.
Casey Burch continued to dominate the Super Challenger division winning his fourth feature of 2013.
Richard Wojtowicz and Mark Thompson were on the front row for the Spectator feature with Victor Earle Jr. and Mark Ramsey in row two. Wojtowicz won the race to turn one to lead the first lap with Thompson second and Earle third. Todd Bacon spun with three laps down for the first caution. Thomson slid up the speedway losing second but the second yellow appeared giving him his spot back. The yellow was for Brian Mohawk. Daryl Green found the turn two wall for caution three on the restart. The third lap three restart was successful with Wojtowicz still the leader. Bert Chapel lost an engine with five complete for another yellow. Point leader Brian Crandall joined Wojtowicz and Thompson at the front then Kyle Reinwald had problems with his left front tire for a lap seven yellow. Head Starter Spanky Hall did not like the restart then accepted the next. Chapel, Jason Badgley and Greene tangled on the restart for another yellow. Badgley and Reinwald caused caution seven on the restart. With two laps remaining the lap car of Brian Mohawk trapped Wojtowicz up against the concrete allowing Thompson to make the inside pass for the lead but the yellow flew for Mohawk before Thompson could complete the lap giving the lead back to Wojtowicz. As Wojtowicz took the checkers several cars tangled in turn three. It was Wojtowicz first win of the season.
Point leader Ryan Scott started 8th in the Limited Late feature. John Cline Jr. was on the pole with Mike Lozowski second. Mike Moore and Wade Watson were the first to have a problem on lap three. Cline was the leader with Steve Kania second and Nathan Short third. Short nearly spun giving the third spot to Jake Finnerty and Scott was fifth. Kania used the high side to pass Cline on lap eleven and Finnerty followed a lap later pushing Cline back to third. After several attempts Short beat Cline to the line to take third with two laps remaining. Scott quickly followed passing Cline for fourth just before Kania took the checkered for his third win of the season.
Andy Boozel and Dick Barton were the Super Late Model front row with David Scott and Chris Hackett in row two followed by Bump Headman and Boom Briggs. Barton moved up to the cushion on the start to lead the first lap. Scott passed Boozel to take second and Hackett grabbed third on the next lap. Boozel was fourth with point leader Briggs fifth and Hedman sixth. After ten laps of green flag racing Barton led Scott by several car lengths with Hackett five car lengths behind Scott and Boozel a distant fourth. At the crossed flags Briggs was testing Boozel. Briggs led Boozel by a nose on lap fifteen then by a car length on lap sixteen. Scott was able to close the gap with Barton and trailed by just three car lengths with four to go. Scott had complete the pass on the back stretch just as the first yellow of the event flew for Doug Eck giving Barton back the number one spot. Barton led lap 22 and took the two to go leading by two car lengths. Darrell Bossard came from nowhere passing Scott then challenging Barton on the final circuit nearly completing the pass failing by a nose at the line. It was Bartonís 77th Super Late win leaving him just two short of all time leader Bobby Schnars. Barton was also the first Super Late winner of the season.
Dereck Frank and Ryan Scott led the Crate Late Models on to the speedway for their feature event. A spin by Bruce Hordusky Jr. brought out the yellow after two completed laps and Frank led with Jason Genco second and Scott Gurdak third. Genco nipped Frank for the lead on lap four and point leader Damian Bidwell moved into second. Brian Haggerty and Ed Coast Jr. tangled for a lap five yellow. It was Genco, Gurdak, Bidwell and Scott after the restart. Hordusky spun and Coast stopped up against the rail in the entrance to turn three causing the third yellow with nine laps complete. Bidwell jumped the cushion on lap twelve losing two spots to Scott and Bob Dorman. With five laps remaining Gurdak stayed within striking distance of Genco. Gurdak tried but could not pass Genco. It was Gencoís second trip to victory lane.
Nineteen E-Mods led by Rich Michael Sr. made up the E-Mod feature event. Michael led the first two circuits when Brian Wilson spun in turn three and David Lamphere spun in turn two. Michael remained the leader after the restart with Justin Carlson second and Ron Seeley third. Steve Rex spun for yellow two with four laps down. Point leader John Woodward Jr. was fourth for the restart. Woodward passed Seeley for third on the restart and Wilson load the handle again for yellow three. Five laps were complete. Lap six was completed the Wilson caused caution four. Two laps later Cale Crocker spun to a stop in turn four for caution five. Jake Eller caused yellow six on the restart. Eller and Crocker slowed the race once again on the restart. Crocker rolled side for side between turn three and four on the next circuit. After the restart Woodward jumped the cushion dropping to fourth giving Mike McGee third. Chevy Sweet spun for the eighth yellow and three laps later Alex Frohman spun for yellow number nine. Carlson edged out Michael with one to go then Michael came back on the final circuit for the win his first of the season.
Tom Kosinski was the early leader in the Super Sportsman feature. A spin by Robert Janowiak put the field under yellow with three laps complete. Jim Kibbe was the leader for the restart. Tom Kosinski slipped back through the field as Dan Nocero Jr. took second and Mike Kosinski third. With five laps remaining Nocero passed Jim Kibbe to become the new leader.
